Reusable Safety Valve Foam

Selsil Safety Valve PU Foam is a polyurethane-based, moisture-cured, one-component filling and insulation material.

Properties

  • One-component.

  • Moisture cured.

  • Excellent adhesion to most construction materials such as wood, concrete, tile, metal and aluminum (except polyethylene, silicone and teflon).

  • Can be closed off with a safety valve after use, so that it can be used again even weeks later by opening the valve.

  • Thermal and acoustic insulation.

  • Cuttable and paintable after curing.

  • Does not contain CFC and HCFC gases.

Application Fields

Instructions

The application surface must be solid, clean, dry and free of dust, oil and grease.
Surfaces must be moisturized before the application of PU foam.
The most suitable tin temperature for use of PU foam is between 20–25°C.
Low temperature cans should be used after storage at room temperature for a period of time (20 min).
Shake the tube vigorously about 30 times before use.

Limitations

  • Not suitable for PE, PP, PC, PMMA, PTFE, soft plastics, neoprene and bituminous substrates
  • Do not use in applications where continuous water immersion is possible.
  • Should not be exposed to UV and be covered paint or plaster.

Cleaning

Fresh foam can be cleaned with Selsil Foam Cleaner before curing. Cured foam can only be removed mechanically with knife or spatula.

Shelf Life & Storage

Store the product in a cool and dry place. The shelf life is 12 months at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.

Health and Safety

Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use gloves before application. Keep out of freezing, direct sunlight and temperatures above 50°C. Apply in well-ventilated areas. Do not breathe vapor. Do not smoke. Do not expose to open flame.
