Selsil Silicone Types
Silicone is one of the world’s most widely used adhesives. Ease of use, versatility and lack of environmental harm make it a popular material for professional and personal applications.

Silicone can repair, bond and prevent air and water passage. Selsil silicones are among the most popular on the market. Each is tailored to different purposes and surfaces, helping you choose the right material. The range designed for varying customer needs can be confusing. This guide explains their features so you can compare them and choose the most suitable option.
Selsil silicones have a shelf life of 12 months and come in packaging that is easy to use, store and apply.

Selsil General Purpose Silicone
If you need silicone for several tasks and do not want a separate adhesive for each, choose Selsil General Purpose Silicone. Ideal for varied indoor applications, it comes in a practical cartridge for storage and dispensing. It adheres well to non-porous surfaces including glass, aluminium and glazed ceramics, and can also bond porous, rough surfaces. It is chosen for kitchen and bathroom repairs and construction. UV resistance makes it a good option around windows.
It contains mould-protection additives, making it suitable for bathrooms, kitchens and other highly humid spaces.
Selsil A General Purpose Silicone
This easy-to-apply general-purpose silicone resists UV and high temperatures and is chosen around windows. Supplied in 280 ml packs, it comes in white and clear, plus black, grey, brown and beige for matching surfaces. It retains colour under sunlight and moisture, bonds excellently to non-porous surfaces and can be used in bathrooms and kitchens.
Selsil Neutral Silicone
This alkoxy-based silicone contains antifungal materials that prevent bacterial and fungal growth after drying. It suits window edges and bonds strongly to glass, plastic, wood and PVC. It resists UV, ozone, high temperatures and weather, and can bond metal, polycarbonate and polyacrylate. Application is very easy. Its neutral chemistry means primer is unnecessary before use. If you need an adhesive specifically for glass, PVC and windows, choose Selsil Neutral Silicone.
Selsil RTV High-Temperature Silicone
Selsil RTV High-Temperature Silicone is a one-component, acetoxy-based, moisture-curing silicone for high-temperature applications. General-purpose silicones also cure with atmospheric moisture; the distinction is their stated temperature resistance and uses. Follow current technical temperature limits when choosing RTV High-Temperature Silicone.
It bonds well to non-porous surfaces and is ideal for aluminium, glass and glazed ceramics. Heat resistance makes it suitable for sun-exposed windows and areas, and for manufacturing and repairing electronics containing motors that heat during operation. Temperature resistance is -50°C to +250°C; compare this range with application conditions and equipment instructions.
Selsil PRO Silicone
Selsil Pro Silicone is made for professional use and offers very high adhesion on porous and non-porous surfaces. Choose white, clear, black, grey, brown or beige to match the surface. It adheres well to metal and wood.
It cures with atmospheric moisture. Surfaces must be clean and dry; do not wet them to accelerate curing. It is one-component, solvent-free and acetoxy-based. Follow the instructions for application and waiting times.
Selsil Shower Enclosure Silicone
Silicone is the ideal adhesive for shower enclosure construction and repairs. Its resistance to air and water makes it an essential choice for joining enclosure parts. Selsil produces Shower Enclosure Silicone specifically for this work. It resists hot water and is made from materials that do not develop mould after drying, however much moisture they encounter. Its elasticity lets sliding enclosure doors open and close easily. Acetoxy-based, it cures with atmospheric moisture like general-purpose silicone. It bonds excellently to smooth, non-porous glass and metal, as well as glazed ceramics: all common bathroom and enclosure materials.
Selsil Shower Enclosure Silicone 50 ml
With the same properties as Selsil shower enclosure silicone, this version comes in a smaller 50 ml pack for personal rather than professional use. It is ideal for minor bathroom problems and ageing adhesive, avoiding the cost and waste of a full-size product for one or two uses. It is easy for amateurs to apply when the details are observed.
Selsil Mirror Silicone
This one-component neutral silicone bonds well to smooth, non-porous surfaces without a strong, unpleasant application odour. Its neutral chemistry allows use on any surface without corroding metal. It resists high temperatures, UV and ozone, contains protection against fungus and mould, and is unaffected by moisture.
Selsil Mirror Silicone can also be used on porous surfaces. It provides high-performance sealing and is ideal around windows, preventing cold and hot air entering.
Selsil Façade Silicone
Designed specifically for façade use, this silicone resists high and low outdoor temperatures. It retains original strength and adhesion for years despite UV, ozone and rainfall. It prevents fungus, bonds to porous and non-porous surfaces and is easy to apply.
Selsil Eko Silicone
Produced for general use, it does not develop mould and resists adverse weather and sunlight. Recommended for bathroom and kitchen surfaces, it bonds very well to non-porous glass, ceramics and metal.
